Belém the Gate of Amazon
You will participate for 5 days of a cultural tour in Belém, visiting its beautiful set architectural still preserved in the large houses, palaces and churches of the old city and try its delicious gastronomy of exotic touches provided by different heritages and by the forest.
Itinerary
1st Day
Our program begins by having our private shuttle picking you up from your arrival place in Belém and taking you to the hotel. At night, we will pick you up in your hotel for a boat tour. This boat departures from Estacao das Docas. Onboard a wonderful folklore show will be performed to you, so get yourself ready to enjoy the rhythm. The city lights seeing from the river are spectacular.
2nd Day
We start our day at 8:00 A.M. by visiting Belém main tourist sites such as “Ver-o-peso”, “Teatro da Paz” (theater), “Basilica de Nossa Senhora de Nazaré” (church), “Museo Paraense Emilio Goeldi” (botanical garden), and “Parque da Residencia” (it is a park now, but it used to be the Governor house).
At “Parque da Residencia”, we stop for lunch (lunch is not included). In the afternoon, we visit “Complexo Feliz Luzitania”. We call “complexo Feliz Luzitana because it is a group of buildings. These buildings are “Forte do Castelo” (a fortified settlement),” Santo Alexandre” (a church where the sacra arts are) and “Casa das Onze Janelas” (an art gallery). We continue our journey visiting “Catedral da Se” (a Cathedral), along the way you can you can see houses from XIX century still well preserved.
At the end of the day, we visit Mangal das Gracas, a riverside art gallery and a restaurant. From there you can enjoy Guama River, a light house, our fauna, and birds. You can also see butterfly at the Butterfly Conservatory located right there. We finish our tour visiting “Polo Joalheiro”, which is a jewelry building (jewelries are manufactured by using graphic designs that represent the Amazon region). Night is free. If you would like a suggestion for dinner, we recommend “Pizza Paraense de Jambu” which is a pizza made with typical ingredients from the north region at “Cafe Imaginario” Restaurant. It is a unique gourmet experience. You shouldn’t miss it. Ask us for directions.
3rd Day
Free day to explore the area hiking or go shopping until your departure to Belém International Airport. We have optional tours in our region if your fly schedule permits. Shuttle to the airport.

The itinerary above is accurate. However, it can be different from some of material previously printed because we are constantly adjusting our trips to better server our clients. These changes are based on customer suggestions or researches. Therefore, our tour guide will keep you informed of any changes that might occur during the first meeting previous departure.
Any additional changes on transportation or lodging will not be covered by Rumo Norte Expeditions. In addition, any service or activities not used will not be refunded because we pay our providers ahead of time.

If you decide not to do one of the activities includes in this itinerary, the value will not be reimbursed.

Transportation
Transfers and trips on land use private 4x4 wheel cars, vans or mini vans. It depends on the size of the group.
Money to spend
Personal expenses: It is recommended that you not carry much money with you during your trip. Prefer use credit cards to pay your expenses. If needed you will have a chance to get cash at ATMs in the city.
Budget: breakfast is included. Per day, save BR$ 25 to BR$ 45 for meals not included and BR$ 5 to BR$ 15 for beverages.
Climate
Belém is located below of the equator line, its hot and humid climate, receives the influence direct from the Amazonian forest, where rains are constant. The countless existing mango trees in the streets of the city, help to brighten up the heat, mainly in the July months hottest the November when the temperature can arrive easy at 38º C. In this period you must be prepared for an eventual rain of summer after 2 pm.
What to bring
We recommend you to bring a small backpack, to take your water and small equipments; raincover, hat or cap, eyeglasses of sun, light clothes, comfortable tennis for hiking; sun screen; insect repellent; your habitual medicines; camera and binoculars.
